Social Media Manager
Me in 3 Creative. Friendly. Adaptable.
I started working for Adria Solutions in June 2020, right in the middle of the pandemic. I had been working as a Social Media Manager in a fashion company for a couple of years, but it was obvious I needed a career change, a challenge to keep me interested in my job and valued as a professional. I was too comfortable in my role, and I was losing interest.
I’d never considered working in IT recruitment until my previous employer laid me off! Sometimes, you don’t realise how miserable you are in a job until you leave. When I started to read about IT Recruitment, I knew I had found my challenge. With IT and Digital playing such an important role these days, IT Recruitment seemed like an interesting choice for someone interested in all things digital.
The most valuable thing I’ve learned while working here is that working in recruitment is a continuous learning experience. Since day one, I had to learn about the business, the role of a Recruitment Consultant, what exactly 360-degree recruitment is and what makes Adria Solutions different from the typical recruitment company. I have challenged myself to think outside the box in social media and find ways to break out of my comfort zone.
What I enjoy most about working here is the team, of course! But also knowing that Adria Solutions’ work changes other people’s lives for good, this is. It helps other companies find the talent that makes them grow and thrive and helps candidates make the right career move.
The best advice I could give to someone wanting to work in recruitment is never to underestimate the power of networking! Whether you are a Recruitment Consultant or a Digital Marketer, talking to others, listening to their opinions, asking questions and engaging in conversations will help you learn and stay informed of what’s happening.
What keeps me going on a difficult day is knowing that it will pass. We all have bad days, but a quick chat with a colleague, a short break to enjoy a cup of tea and a chocolate treat, or a walk around the block can help clean your mind and change your mood from bad to good.
My long-term ambition is to keep learning new skills to complement my existing skillset, ideally seeing Adria grow as a business as I grow myself as a Digital Marketer. At the top of my bucket list is to lose the fear of speaking to a camera. The skill I would most like to learn is Digital Project Management.
My Hero My father is my personal hero. He quit college to support his family and worked two jobs to move from an Accountant’s Assistant job to a Business Manager. Never has he complained about putting in the extra hours, and he enjoys what he does. He’s not afraid of learning about new tools, and he’s always open to networking, and he’s an empathetic manager with his team.
