I started Adria Solutions with Nick back in 2004, I remember it well! I’d worked for a few recruitment companies, big and small, but I wanted to be my own boss and put my values into recruitment.

I fell into recruitment by accident, like a lot of people do. I like the service aspect of the role and how you can help change people’s lives for the better. I enjoyed the resourcing aspect of the position – I have forged some long-lasting friendships with the candidates I have helped, and to see them grow in leadership positions has given me great pride.

During my time at Adria Solutions, I’ve learnt that anything is possible and you should never give up. Recruitment can be frustrating, but no day is the same – you just need to stay positive in everything you do. I love my job. We have been going for 20 years, and we have achieved so much, but there is so much more we can do. We are a small family business that has worked with hundreds of companies. During that time, some have grown from small SMEs to major global organisations.

The best advice I could give someone who wants to work in recruitment is, don’t get too frustrated, plan your day and work hard. Stay positive at all times. What keeps me going on a difficult day is the thought that ​​there are worse things happening in the world than “my difficult day”. Recruitment is not easy, and you do have curve balls thrown at you. Just learn from your experiences and try to take the positives.

My long-term ambition is to grow Adria Solutions further, so the top of my bucket list is not to kick it too early!!!! The skill I’d most like to learn is to play a musical instrument.
