Our specialist team always keep a keen eye on the latest developments in technology to help them identify opportunities. We share with you, what’s caught our eye this month, with our five tech faves for March.

Transforming Web Banners Into Music

Web banners can be a tad infuriating. A recent collaboration between AIAIAI and the Danish duo Kenton Slash Demon, is set to change that. Now web users can transform internet banners into music thanks to the launch of a new “interactive music universe.”

Human Skin Printing Technology

Scientists have developed a new technology which can print human skin. The technology enables machines to print layers of human skin cells. Thus enabling medical professionals to treat burns and open wounds significantly faster than has ever been possible.

Smartphone ECG

Smartphones are becoming increasingly more sophisticated and capable of doing virtually anything we ask them to. The likelihood of smartphones doubling up as an ECG machine designed to detect serious heart conditions, therefore, doesn’t sound implausible.

Researchers at the University at Edinburgh and NHS Lothian have been conducting trials on the device. Thy claim, it is ten times more effective at diagnosing heart rhythm problems than standard tests. Of course, we’re big fans of anything that has the potential to save lives!

A Robot Inspired By Climbing Trees

Now this one might be on the wacky side, but it certainly made us read it twice! A research group at Tel Aviv University are developing a low-mass, low-volume robot with advanced capability. Not just your average robot, it is capable of negotiating voids, anchoring itself and climbing.

Subsequently, the tree-climbing robot will help overcome one of the most complex challenges of modern robotics – moving coherently under challenging conditions and unpredictable terrain.

A tree-climbing robot contrasts to more conventional robots presents endless possibilities for forestry and environmental investigations.

5G

One of the most anticipated technologies of the year and one that our team is most excited about is 5G, the next generation of wireless.

The network will likely be ten times faster than broadband and a “quantum leap” from 4G.

In 2018 we saw a slice of 5G action when Verizon launched a home broadband service incorporating the technology.

Hot on Verizon’s heels in the race to adopt 5G; AT&T has brought 5G services to dozens of cities. Great news for the US, of course! We can’t wait for it to come to the UK.

2019 is poised to make 5G more widespread with the launch of several smartphones capable of running on the network.

A Few Final Thoughts on Our Five Tech Faves for March

Recruitment is a fast-pace world, just like the Technology world, so our team is especially excited about new tech that promises to make life easier for our clients and candidates. Therefore, we’re always on the lookout for further advances in technology which may impact on our world.
