Project Manager – Business Change – Manchester.
Our client based in Manchester is currently looking for a skilled Project Manager with Business Change and continuous improvement experience. The Project Manager is responsible for the successful definition, planning, progression, and delivery of medium/large internal and external projects and single (and/or multiple) work streams in large, complex Programmes of work.

Role and Responsibilities

* Ensure the successful delivery of assigned projects, ensuring planning, resource allocation and budgetary constraints are adhered to.
* Manage external resources to ensure requirement gathering is appropriately investigated ensuring processes are effective and lean and the requirements are thoroughly documented, in line with the PMO’s project methodology and standards.
* Lead and chair project meetings with senior management and ensures that all timelines are adhered to and that all issues, risks and slippages are addressed.
* Monitor project status and ensure that projects meet the appropriate stage gateways as set by the PMO governance process.
* Produce and own the Project Initiation Document (PID), maintaining it throughout the lifecycle of a project.
* Responsible for the RAID log and updating and maintaining its accuracy throughout project life cycle.
* Ensure projects run within agreed tolerances and tolerance breaches are reported promptly to the PMO Governance Board.
* Provide regular project reporting both to the PMO and to key Business and IT stakeholders.
* Manage, respond and cope effectively with project change due to dependencies both inbound and outbound.
* Present recommendations to improve the PMO lifecycle/processes to Management e.g. Head of Change/PMO.

Skills and Experience:

* 2+ years’ experience of delivering multiple complex projects concurrently
* Agile, Prince2, Lean or other industry standard qualification
* Proven experience of third party management in relation to key suppliers, sub-contractors & stakeholders.
* Strong knowledge of project management frameworks and governance approaches
* Experience of delivering success through effective matrix management of project teams
* Advanced planning and organisational skills, able to delegate effectively and proactively identify obstacles
* Strong financial/cost management capability, including managing budgets, challenging costs & interpreting data
