2nd Line Support Engineer – Manchester – £28K

Our rapidly expanding Manchester based client is presently seeking to recruit a talented Support Engineer to join their team.

This is an opportunity for an IT Engineer/Analyst to advance their career to the next level by joining a company working with all the latest technologies.

Your day to day responsibilities will include:
* Provide 2nd line technical support within the IT Service Desk
* Working closely with both 1st and 3rd line to ensure the issue is resolved or assigned to the correct level
* Supporting Windows servers both physical and virtual
* Undertaking small- to medium-sized IT projects
* Log all calls on the call logging system.
* Day to day management of the backup system.
* Working on own initiative to diagnose and resolving technical issues
* Understanding of Networking and TCP/IP Protocols;
* Understanding of Microsoft based desktop operating system – Windows 10
* Proven experience using and troubleshooting Office 2016 within a network environment (permissions, calendar sharing, delegation)
* Experience of administering Office365 including, SharePoint Online (permissions, workflows, migration)
Essential Skills
* Windows Server 2012 Administration (experience highly desirable)
* O365 Administration (experience highly desirable)
* Exchange Server 2016 Administration (experience highly desirable)
* Working with SANs (experience highly desirable primarily)
* Networking and Firewalls (experience highly desirable)
* Active Directory Administration including building Group Policies (Windows Server 2008/2012 – experience highly desirable)
* Microsoft System Centre Configuration Manager 2012 (experience highly desirable)

The successful candidate will have:
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
* Good time management and priority handling
* Highly diligent with exceptional attention to detail
* Able to risk assess before executing change
* Strong written ability (to include technical writing)
* Able to conduct research into areas as required
* Able to logically understand, diagnose and resolve problems
