2nd Line Support Engineer – Macclesfield

I have an amazing opportunity for a 2nd line Support Engineer to join a leading IT Support Services and solutions company.

You will interface to the vendors by telephone, e-mail and using remote control software, where you will provide an excellent service to end users and set expectations based on agreed processes.

Key Activities:
* As a technical lead you take care of realistic estimates
* Server installation and management
* Network and Active Directory management
* Windows Desktop, Apple Mac, mobile and VOIP installation and management
* Satellite office on and off-site and installations and support
* Direct end-user support providing quality customer service
* Monitor, diagnostic testing and forensics
* Vendor liaison and support escalation
* Software management and repair
* 2nd line support to the service desk
* Incident response

Essential skills and specialist knowledge:
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in similar role and time pressured environment
* Decision making
* Windows Server; Windows Desktop; Exchange; AD Full Administration
* SAN, Virtualisation; Network and back up Technologies
* Terminal Services or Citrix
* Technical documentation skills
* Full driving license must be held
* Proactive; reliable, punctual, self-motivated
* Problem-solving and attention to detail
* Excellent writing and oral communication
* Good sense of humour, team player, innovative and a wide interest in new technology and techniques

Desirable Technical Skills:
* Mac OSX
* Linux
* LANDesk
* Interprise Vault
* VM Ware
* Cisco Switch Administration
* ISO 27001 and PCI DSS
